Hello,

I live in Metro Detroit and I'm looking to get into serving papers on the side. Where is the place to start? What is the best way to approach lawyers, etc to drum up work?

Thanks for the help.

Can process servers be armed for their protection while performing their duties?

Depends on your state's regulations regarding firearms and the security profession itself.

I am a process server out of San Diego, California and I do business throughout a majority of Southern California. My company, eServe, serves lawsuits for anyone willing to employ our services. Throughout many of my travels I have encountered serious situations where I may have felt more comfortable if I were able to carry a concealed weapon, but overall I think it would just cause a bigger problem for process servers nationwide. This has been an interesting topic and has been touched upon on my website www.processserversandiego.com if anyone is interest and wants to learn more I encourage you to check it out. Thank you.
