Ok... see some people that can connect you, then see more people that can connect you and then see more people that can connect you. But make sure that you offer them some knind of referral, connection or help. Never go to the picnic without something to offer everybody their. ps...pick your verticals amybe three and work them through your new network. Good Luck!

Hi I have been reading all the comments in regards to getting contracts for your company. I believe the old fashion way is the best. Go out and meet face to face so you both can see and know who and what type of bussiness you are getting together. Once you get a contract you become partners. Communication is the best key. I just started working for a gobal security firm that is really big in the UK and India. We are trying to become as big here as we are in other areas and the only way to do it is to start out small and get your name out there. This is my advise to you.

I agree with your post ......

MICADRO in Fort Washington, Maryland said: all of these questions are great. I own a security company and i started by my self. but i have never asked how to get a contract or how much to bill my clients. That tells me you have no clue how security works and are doing this for thrill. It is people such as your selves that give this field a bad name as if none of us know what the hell we are doing? So to answer some of your ignorant questions i will say, if you need to ask such common sense questions about your own profession, that you should have more than average experience in, then get out and do something you know how to do and have a passion for.

I agree...they want all the answers ..took me years to play this game and I do it well

Keep in touch. tppatriot at g mail I'll give you all the help I can. Do your best.

There are Malls, Hospitals, Banks, and other Manufacturers that need security. Contact reputable firms directly. You will find operators willing to partner with you. If you are interested in partnership for marketing, networking and subcontracting, you can find it. You will need to vet these firms.

We operate in Southeast Georgia from Savannah to Brunswick. We offer Armed and Unarmed Security Officers.
We work mainly for Banks, Schools, and Businesses wanting to protect their investments.
We have the opportunity to provide security for anyone in Southeast Georgia to help cut down on crime. With crime rising these days everyone is targeted. People are breaking into business to steal copper out of A/C units and much more and our officers can help your company protect the company you have worked hard to build. With the crime rate going up everyone is looking for a great security company to protect their business at a great price.
Our Security Business is growing in size and is starting to expand and we are looking to expand across the nation from California to NewYork.
We plan on joining forces with more companies looking to expand. We will start signing new contracts with bigger companies that need more officers for longterm contracts, but we will still carry smaller companies that will also need officers only on needed times. This will help continue to build the company and bring in more clients. This is a great opportunity to start a new office and bring in new revenue for any company.

Jody Wilkes is the Field Operations Manager that has had over 15 years in security protection. Starting with the Department of Corrections in 1998 and working for several security companies along the way. Some of the companies include; Security Forces Inc., Finley Security and Investigations, Saber Security and Investigations, and Securitas Security Services.

a possible listing for the desired sector does not exist as a database. companies do exist and practice this type of exercise. however this is solely based on a company by company basis. unfortunately they do not fall into any group that can simply be obtained.
if your seriously looking to expand in the California area please contact me. Ive operated in the industry for 20 years. 18 of those years in California. extensive experience in contract generation.

Good afternoon,

I have recently started a security company in Miami, FL. I have acquired all the required licenses and have had employees from my other company licensed in security. Therefore, I can have 30 licensed employees ready to begin in a security contract. I am now in the process of contract acquisition. During my research I have come across this forum and would appreciate any advice at grullj@yahoo.com.

Through the years this thread has taken a turn that leads one to question its original purpose. In the beginning this thread was created to assist individuals that were new to the industry. They simply lacked knowledge on how to obtain new contracts. Or they had man power issue / concerns, etc….
And for the most part this was a shark free forum. Meaning companies never posted in this forum in an effort to swallow up the smaller business. These companies started posting some time ago in this forum. They would offer assistance in acquiring new contracts as they absorbed the smaller company completely, or they wanted a percentage off the top end.
Now advice is like everything else in life for the most part. You get what you pay for. However the cost should never be your soul (aka your company).
If anyone has any industry questions please don’t pay for the advice. Only pay for services one might provide your firm. Hell ill give free advice all day long if no one else will! I have 20 years in the industry.

I started and ran a security guard company for about 8 years, after which point I successfully sold it to a regional security guard firm. I went on to become Director of Business Development at a large national firm, so I know the difficulty of selling security guard service. Since then I've gone on to start a software firm in the security industry. With the new company we have a pretty good blog that talks about selling security guard service, so I invite you to check out some of our articles at www.officerreports.com/blog/category/sales/. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us. Good luck!!!
