I am an ASE certified service advisor. You should go to a vocational or tech school for automotive technology. The two most important things in advising are complete working knowledge of all automotive systems, and strong customer service and communication skills. Any school in your area that offers auto tech classes will do just fine. Do yourself a favor though and get your ASE cert before you hunt for jobs. Having the certification gives you immediate preferance over other applicants, and in the automotive world is as good as a college degree. Hope my info helps you along. E.
