First,you must show leadership.

Next you must let everyone know that you have the authority(but don't overstep your boundaries)and don't let them.

Finally, you must be consistent in your duties. Don't start slipping, or thinking that you are the biggest thing in the whole job.

Keep calm, don't get overworked, have fun and get the job done!

TO be successful you don't need to know the job you have been recruited for, THe key to a sucessful mananger is to use the skills of your staff to achieve the goals you aspire to.

Motivate and train them, never forget to reward them with a 'well done' and excellent work' this counts for more that £50 quid in there wage packet. Comunication is key, Set clear goals and work to achieve them. Plan to succeed. If you get stuck 'Kaizen it' break the problem down with your staff then plan to rectify it, if you can't cure it , Plan round it . Above all be positive with your staff and your peers,

You need to be flexible,and be able to maximise efficiency of your staff,be a motivator,team player,a good listner,communicator,be predictable,transparent,give support,set goals,enforce ethical behaviour,give applause for a job well done,posses technical,interpesonal skillz,be able to plan,organise,control and lead,discover and develop talent
