You should look at Systems Theory, which you should be studying in your HBSE courses. I am a graduating BSW about to enter MSW program. Basically a client system is the client, his family, any groups he is part of, his community etc. Think of it as concentric circles of support/involvement, with the client as the center and spreading wider as you go outward in rings. It is his network, his support system, etc. I hope this helps, and good luck with your studies!
