Looking for some in-the-know input please.

I interviewed at Google a year ago immediately following my undergraduate "graduation". I made it to the final round and was not offered a position, but was told that I was really close to be offered one. A week ago I was contacted by a Google recruiter telling me that they want to have me back on campus for another round to reconsider. I found out about a month after I walked at graduation that two of the classes I needed to graduate did not count. As such, I do not have my diploma. I've been working as a software engineer for the past 12 months and as such have not had the opportunity to finish those two courses (history and literature.. I finished my CS course load).

I suspect that I may have a decent chance of making it through this round of interviews considering the feedback I got last time, but my question is towards whether Google would hire me without having officially attained my degree? Anyone know?

Thanks!
