Are jobs in this industry on the rise? Are there any sub-sectors that are growing? Where are the jobs? Which places have the most solidworks designer opportunities? |

Thats a difficult one to answer. In general, I think solidworks jobs are probably declining. Mainly because most manufacturing jobs are going off shore. There are some area that may be showing some growth, the energy sector for example. There seems to be very little solidworks activity in the Charlotte NC area. |

They are growing wherever there is a large manufacturing sector. Any kind of fabrication or assembly company can use a guy that can make good drawings. If you are that worried, take a class in ProEngineer Wildfire. That seems to be the hot program right now. If you are interested, reply and I'll send you a link to a site where you can buy a student edition with a book. I think it's around $100. |
