Questions for teachers:
• How do you view your role as a special education teacher/parent?
• What are your major responsibilities?
• What specific competencies do you consider most important to accomplish your responsibilities?
• What type of experience would best prepare someone for a position like yours?
• How many students are you responsible for?
• How much time do you spend in professional development activities?
• How does your role help in attainment of the school improvement goals?
• Explain how you evaluate your students.
• What techniques do you use to assist borderline students to obtain a satisfactory competency level?
• What is the most rewarding part of your job?
• Do you have any recommendations for me as a potential teacher in terms of how I plan for:
1. The development of my career?
2. Becoming a highly effective teacher?

Questions for a parent:
• How do you view your role as the parent of a special education student?
• What are your responsibilities?
• What specific competencies do you consider most important to accomplish your responsibilities?
• What type of experiences have you had interacting with school administrators and educators?
• Explain successful strategies you use to help and support your child.
• What is the most rewarding part of your job as a parent?
• Do you have any recommendations for me as a potential teacher in terms of how I would interact successfully with parents and students?
