I am about to graduate from a well-know SLP undergraduate program. I applied to 5 graduate programs all over the country and haven't gotten into 3 and am waiting to hear back on 2. In the meantime, I'm trying to figure out what exactly I can do with my BS- what jobs are applicable to me. Any suggestions? I've been putting myself out there already for research institute positions, but I don't know how hopeful I should be. Thanks! |

You need your M.S. in order to really use your B.S. in speech-language pathology. I just got my M.S. and I am intering my CF year. I know with your B.S. you can be an assistant to a SLP or even have your own caseload with supervision from an SLP for a year or two, but then you have to start earning your M.S. So you can't do that job forever, ASHA says so.... I graduated from Fontbonne but other Colleges around me that have a SLP graduate program are st. Louis university (SLU) and SIU-Edwardsville in Illinois. from what I've heard SIUE is fairly easy to get into at least easier than SLU and Fontbonne so you may want to give them a try. Best of luck. |

You can try Nova in Florida. Most people I know that have applied have gotten in. You need a 3.0 and you do not have to take the GRE. |

You can try Nova in Florida. They have an online program and the only requirement is that you go to FL for 2 weeks and you must have a 3.0 and you are not required to take the GRE. Go check them out. |
