I recently graduated from a Surg Tech Program and took the CST Exam as well. I'm awaiting my scores (fingers crossed). I got an offer for a job interview with an organ procurement agency as a tissue recovery tech or something to that nature. I'm very nervous about the interview because i sincerely want and need this job. Any insight on how interviews such as this one normally go?

Any insight on this particular job?

Just curious, How much are they offering to pay you? I got a job offer in the San Fransico Bay Are as a tissue recovery tech and they are offering $15hr. plus overtime (time and half) and bonus of $25-$100 per organ/structure removed. They way she broke it down for me was that I'd be making between $30-$40/hr.

I hadn't attended the interview yet so I'm not sure. All I did was fax my resume to them, not knowing that they even had an opening, and they called to set up an interview. I'm really nervous for interviews and really don't wanna screw this one up. How was yours and what type of questions did they ask u?

Well, my interview was a phone interview first, and now they just want to meet me to go over the scope of the position in more detail and make sure that I am 100% certain that I want to do it. She didn't ask too many questions because all this particular company cares about is if you have previous surgical experience or graduate from a surgical tech program. She explained what the job is about, how the tech's work, the amount of travel involved, and the pay structure. She said that the second interview determines whether or not I get hired because many tech's say they want the job, but when they find out what it involves they freak out and don't want anything to do with it. I don't mind working with deceased patients so its no prob for me.

Well i am a graduate of a surg tech program and this is something i definitely wanna do. Gruesome sights does not bother me at all. My first interview is not a phone interview though, i actually have to go in the office and from my understanding, she has a few people that shes interviewing. Since i am a surg tech that should help me to get the position, hopefully! As you probably can see, I REALLY WANT THIS JOB!
