I am all licensed with my PTIN number, but last year I had a different job and didn't do taxes. When I renewed my PTIN number I realized I needed to have e-file if I was going to prepare over 10 taxes... I have started the paperwork, but that doesn't help for this year.

Am I out of luck? Or is there a way I can still e-file?
I haven't purchased any software yet, as I was looking at doing something virtual like the new online virtual tax software that Intuit QuickBooks does...thoughts please?

Help....

It takes about 45 days for the IRS to send you your actual efile number. I filed for my EFIN on the 28th of November along with my finger prints. If you access your application online I was approved by the middle of December. Along with the approval your efile number is stated on your online application. Doesnt hurt to try for now.
