I have been in Perth for just under a year, and have not worked in that time. I was trained in South Africa and have a diploma in Technical Illustration. Having recently decided to go back to work, I was surprised at the lack of jobs for Technical Illustrators here in Perth.

I have 15 years experience in Technical documentation industy, mainly military and mining projects. Some of the software programs I use are Isodraw 6 with CAD processing, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, LinkOne, 3D studio Max.

Are there any illustrators here in Perth able to point me in the right direction to help in finding myself some contract or full time work over here. Your help would be very much appreciated.

Regards
Brett

Came to Perth 28 years ago to do the operating instructions for Woodside's North Rankin A Platform. I haven't had any Tech. illustration work for the past five years, but I think that might be an age issue as much as anything. I do tend to agree with the comments found in these forums though, that 3D modelling by engineering companies has more or less killed off the illustration business.
