What do you enjoy most about being a Technical Illustrator? What do you dislike the most? Is it challenging? Are there many opportunities to learn and advance?

What keeps you at your job?

I started out as a Draftperson. A highly regulated profession. Specifications on every aspect of the work you did.
As a Tech Illustrator, almost no specifications. Creativity was rewarded. I could try different methods, styles, techniques, and kept what worked and toss what didn't.
One did need an understanding of the message the image was trying to protray to the end user. With this in mind, one could render the image to suit the requirement.
Also, if you had noticed, spelling isn't that important as well. What the end customer saw in the image had the priority.

I love the challenge of being about to say something without using words. I like the fact that the quality of my companies end product can be effected by how well I create my illustrations to instruct others how to assemble the products.
