*Build a candidate database
This is a very important step. Without a solid candidate database, no one is going to come and ask you for candidates. To build your candidate database go to the people you know. Ask them for referals. Tell them you are starting on your own. They will defintely help you.

*Start a candidate relationship management program
One common mistake most recruiters do is, they treat candidates like a commoditiy. But remember you are in a people business. It is not only important to build relationships with your customers, but also with your candidates. When you build such a relationship no one is going to say no to give you a few referals. Few important steps to build relationships with candidates is to talk to them atleast every 6 months, know how they are doing at their job, whether they are looking for a change, and most important keeping notes on them. And this does not stop even after you have placed the candidate.

*Start looking for companies who need candidates
This is the last step. Remember it is important to do thorough checks before you send in a candidate to a company.

*Finding a right tool.
www.talentag.com offers you the right tools for steps 1 and 2 for free. We are also planning to build a recruitment outsourcing platforms where companies will state their recruitment requirements for freelance recruiters. Do visit www.talentag.com and take benefits of this advantage.

For those agencies that have successfully implemented stage 1 & 2 listed above I believe that I can assist you with the 3rd stage, finding companies to place candidates into.

I have recently set up a comparison site for employers to use in order to find recruitment agencies that specialise in the roles they are looking to fill. This site will provide leads direct to your inbox thus reducing the man hours spent sourcing recruiting businesses.

If you believe this would help you achieve your goals please visit the website www.peoplecompare.co.uk.
