What are typical technical recruiter salaries? Do some companies pay a lot more for this position than others? What does a top earner make in this field? What skills should you learn to increase your salary? |

Salary will depend on the combination of either years of experience and location of the position, if this is strictly a salaried position and not a salary/commission position. As for your second question, most corporate technical recruiting positions pay horribly, but are certainly more stable than a position with a technical recruiting firm where there are numbers to be met. If you really want to get your hands dirty and learn how to recruit in the technical arena, go to a small recruiting firm where you can shadow someone with years of experience. Lastly, the only thing that will keep you from being a good recruiter is lack of communication skills. Bottom line, this profession is all about communication skills and your ability to ask the right questions. Identifying talent comes with experience and every technical recruiter knows that it's the best candidate that makes them the money. Without the candidate, you have nothing. A monkey can get a job order all day long...it's all about the candidate! |
