Dear Indeed visitors, I would like to bring to your attention a new software tool for acronym management – Acronyms Master. This tool has been specially developed for those who work with technical documentation. Acronyms Master identifies acronyms and their definitions within the document and creates the Table of Acronyms just in few seconds. I think that many of you will find this tool as very useful. For more details please visit: www.acronyms-master.com I’d love to hear your opinion and suggestions on this tool.

It’s MS Word add in. It scans the document and identifies acronyms and their definitions. It can generate Acronyms List for this document and also save acronyms in the database.

I have been using a program called AcroWizard for several years and I LOVE it. It is put out by Anvil Logic (www.anvillogic.com/products). It gives you the control to build the acronym list as you go by creating a Word table at the end of the document. But it does so much more! It comes with a few databases you can add in for federal government and military agencies. If you want to know if the acronym -- or the definition -- has been used before in the document, it will locate the first occurrance for you. You can build your custom database as you go or you can add entries individually ... or ... you can take an existing list and add the whole list at once! A VERY handy tool for anyone who has to write using a lot of acronyms. Barb |
