I am contemplating pruchasing either RoboHelp 7 or ePublisher version 2008.1. I have taken trial versions of each. I feel that it might be more cost-effective to purchase Adobe's Technical Communications Suite and upgrade from FrameMaker 7.1 to 8 and get RoboHelp 7 at the same time. However, I feel that ePublisher converted my files perfectly. I had to make tweaks in my files after I converted them to RoboHelp 7, and they still weren't formatted to my liking. Has anyone else tested out RoboHelp 7 and ePublisher 2008.1 (a.k.a. the Spring 2008 release)?

I've been researching RoboHelp vs. ePublisher lately. I used WebWorks Publisher and RoboHelp several years ago and would opt for WWP based on those experiences. However, I've heard that Robo has improved a great deal and that ePublisher has some problems, I think, to do with templates now being very difficult to work with. Have you heard about this in your research?

We source from FM8 into RH7 and it's a nightmare. A conversion that should take a day or so to complete will take a week because of the known problems with the conversion tool. I have just run a trial of Madcap Flare 4, which didn't go very well. I used WWP a few years ago with great success, We are purchasing ePublisher.
