When writing procedures, first state at the beginning what your reader should be able to accomplish after reading your procedures.
Break things down into numbered steps.
Use short sentences and write to your audience (for example, if your audience is generally uneducated, only use short sentences with simple words).
Take the time to explain why. This will help readers understand more clearly.
