Hi everyone, I've been accepted into the Kaiser sonography program in Richmond, CA. I'm excited but know it's impossible if I don't have funding. Talking to their finaid office didn't yield much help. I tried the FAFSA route but Kaiser does not have a federal school code. Without federal aid, I thought of private school loans but many banks I've asked will not issue a loan for a non-title IV program. Besides scholarships, is my only option private personal loans? I need something deferred while in school but personal loans require immediate monthly payments it seems. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. |

hoapres, Thank you! I neglected to mention that I already knew about the KP School of Allied Health Sciences (KPSAHS) Student Aid Program. I will definitely be applying but the loan maximum is only $5,000. Your link did help me discover the Kaiser Permanente Allied Health Care Education Scholarship Program though. I will have to apply to that too and cross my fingers. Thanks once again. Any further guidance is greatly appreciated! |

Thanks for the advice hoapres. I just got my bachelor's degree in psychology from a state school. My sister is an RN and was the one who introduced me to the sonography program. I thought the hard part was getting into the program but now realized (much belatedly) that the real dilemma is affording it. I am still kicking myself for banking on federal aid when it wasn't an option from the beginning. I'll follow up on your suggestion to inquire with Kaiser though. |
