I just recently finished my externship and now studying for SPI and then RVT. I'm unemployed because I had to do the externship and I'm constantly searching for a Vascular tech job, hoping to get my foot in the door and hoping someone would hire a recent student. But it's not easy. Every day I search all websites and submit my resume but there are never any calls. Will this get better? Did anyone else experience this at first? I need a job, I have no money and bills are adding up. I would call back my old job to see if my old position is still available but I hated that place and don't want to look like a failure. Ugh. |

It is hard. I had looked in the major cities in Texas and did not hear anything until 6 months after graduating. Luckily, I had a clinical rotation through the hospital that called me back. Half of my classmates have still not found a job and it's almost been a year since graduation. TIPS: keep applying, online and in person. Post your resume on websites (i.e. indeed.com) and if you have not heard anything, CHANGE YOUR RESUME! Get your license/specialties. Don't give up, be willing to work any shift and almost anywhere [at first]. All in all, it gets better. |
