Consumer Underwriter Seeking Advice for Mortgage Opportunities

I have been a consumer recreational loan underwriter for 10+ years. Underwriting autos, rv's, boats, motorcycles, and yachts ranging from 10k-2mm. I was laid off 6/08, then started with a new lender from 3/09-7/09, and then with a healthcare office as a finance manager 7/09-5/10. Now actively looking for a job and all that is hiring are mortgage u/w positions that want MTG experience. I've reviewed credit reports, tax returns, financial statements, d&b reports, and all that so I have the skills to succeed. How do I get into a MTG U/W position without the experience?
