help? Where do I start - Unit Secretary

I have tons of office and clerical skills and want to apply for a Unit Secretary job. Most jobs require "knowlege of medical terminology". Is a basic on line course/Cerificate ok? The job posts do not say anything about a certificate. If I do need one who should I contact? This is a very entry level job but I want to apply with everything in tact first. Any help would be SO appreciated!!!!
