Hi,
I am seeking some advice regarding pursuing Unix System Administration as a career. I am a CS major and currently employed as a Software QA (Quality Assurance) Engineer. However, I am dissatisfied by the nature of work and the experience its giving me. I m considering making a switch to a different career path and willing to go through the required training. Since, I have little familiarity with Unix systems due to my current work, one of the options that I am considering is Unix System Administration. Is it a good career choice to pursue at this time, considering the current situation of the job market? Also, I m thinking of taking a certification course at the extension school at UCSD to prepare myself. Do you think that this will help me find a job as a Unix System Administrator by the end of the certification? Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
