Has anyone had any luck tying to shadow a vet tech in a veterinary practice? I work days full time (non-veterinary related) and go to school part time distance learning program at San Juan. I have gone to fifteen different vets trying to allow me shadow so that I can get some experience. I can only shadow at night and on weekends. Daily practices tell me nothing goes on on Saturdays .. try ER hospital. I try the ER and they tell me try a day practice. I'm trying to get something set up now so that in my next semester when I need 10 clinical hours I will be able to get it at the place I am shadowing. I'm starting to believe I have made a bad choice and should just quit the vet tech program. If I can't get a non paying slot how are you supposed to find a paying one? |

See if Dr. Wright or Sherri will write you up something that you can take to the clinics so that they know you are legit. It may help you get your foot in the door. |
