The Top three traits or skills a victim advocate must have to excel is real compassion and the ability to empathize with the victims. Another important skill is the knowledge of how to relate and communicate with that individuals that has been victimized. Part of communicating as a victim's advocate is good listening skills, listening to what their needs are. The third trait is passion for wanting to make a difference in an individual's life. whose spirit has been broken. having the tools to help them rebuild their lives.
