My husband is almost finishing his career in broadcasting, he is trying since two years ago to enroll in this field, but here in Miami you need to have a contact in order to enter in this field. He loves to work like editor, we can move to anywhere or he can work from home starting his own company. He already has the equipment and softwares to work. How can give us an idea of how he can start in this field? Every person who interview him ask for experience, he only has the intership experience because no body give him the opportunity.

find many small (weak) productions to edit. Building reputation is key. He will have to decide if editing something would be beneficial or not. Searching online like these websites help alot. Find the smaller productions if there is no other choice. but eventually, someone somewhere MIGHT see his work, try posting on youtube, or vide sites to show experience. Constant demo reels may work. Maybe try working or looking for jobs in LA or hollywood. Many smaller productions could be found here. If all else fails, getting the dirt low job is another way to break in. such as the driver or runner boy for some company. After his hours are over, chill with the editors and become friends with them. Making friends is also keen. He will start low, unless lucky, but editors usually crawl up to the higher positions. i hope ihelped a tad and didnt just regurgitate stuff you guys already knew. GOODLUCK!
