I am an ex-offender from Detroit, who moved to Georgia in 2008. I have been off parole now for 7 years and just can not find a job in Georgia. I mean is there any brothers out there who are in the same position that I am in. What can we do to get employment in Georgia. Or are there any brothers out there who are willing to band together and start a business. Fill free to respond, I have realized that we live in a vicious society when it pertains to ex-offenders, now is the time for all of the brothers who are in this vicious cycle to band together, I really believe that we can make a positive difference if we work together. I am quite sure that there are some brothers out there who have some skills in Home improvement or Maintenance can we get together and talk about it! Please fill free to respond to this message and lets get this thing started! ASP |

Stephani, I am also an ex-offender. As you say it is a vicious place at times. At first i was able to get a job,now with the economic times we now live it is very hard and if we are lucky enough to get a job, it does not last very long. So with that said,i now make the system pay for my life. We are now as ex-offenders considered "Displaced Minorities"So that in sort means we are able to obtain Pel Grants for school,Small Business loans, Federal Assistance,Food Stamps,Medical, you name it we can get. I have been out now for three years, i now own my own business and enjoy life,Praise God for all of it. and that is how to go about it. |
