In the arena of manufacturing and high demand: (1) Organizational/Time Management Skills are a MUST
With technological advances becoming a commonality in life in general, warehousing and inventory management systems are booming. With this being said, a manager must be willing to learn new programs and skills that come along with the technological advances introduced. It use to be simple warehousing skills that were sought out in managers, but no more. A manager has big shoes to fill and also must be able to deal with the many pressures and demands. Too often the position is not compensated enough but is the backbone to most companies. The ability to deal with an array of staff and personalities is complicated but can also be very fulfilling. Never a dull moment. Managers must see outside of the box and be willing to do what is not always listed in their job descriptions. This will allow for managers to reach upper management (director levels) upon showing success of warehousing management. |

Ok, I see there are several warehouse managers in this forum so I am going to ask a question. Does anyone have a benchmarking, ROI mertic to determine savings for implementing 5S in a warehouse?
