How did you get your start doing writer editor work, and what career moves did you make to get to your current position?

Do you need a particular educational background?

I do quite a bit of writing and editing in my current job but I think some additional training such as a class or two might help me transfer my skills to a writing/editing job. Any advice?

Is a writer editor the same kind of thing as a proofreader?

What career moves did I make to get this job? I wandered into the CEO's office one day, introduced myself, and wound up a writer/editor. That was in 2000. I've had this job ever since. Korea is like that. There are opportunities here for native English-speakers with experience in writing and editing. My educational background: BA, College 1973, Environmental Science. So you don't need a doctorate, or even an MA, to start a new career abroad.
