What are the best yacht broker qualifications and training to get ahead?

What is the best training for becoming a yacht broker? What types of ongoing training or certifications are necessary to be an effective yacht broker?

What do non-traditional career paths look like?

In Italy, in order to deal with anything relating to ships and yachts, it would be necessary to undergo an exam, to become chartered maritime broker. However, the majority of brokers in Italy do not hold this certification.
Also, it is useful to hold a nautical licence to be able to navigate which comes in handy when you would go and try out the yacht (small one) in the sea.

I'm not sure there is such a thing as a traditional career path to become a yacht broker... :)
