I am wondering the same thing. I have applied for an academic advisor position at a local state university that is literally five-ten minute walking distance from my home, after being a stay-at-home mom and elementary teacher in my current and past vocations.

I am wondering what would help me prepare for upcoming interview this August-Sepember if I even get a call from the university. The position has a projected starting date of October 1, 2007.

Be prepared to tell how you would deal with and motivate a student who wasn't sure whether to enroll, or whether to continue taking classes.

I was recently interviewed for the AA position. I had studied something else than education.
Some questions were:

Why education?

Also, which skills would I contribute?

Why I want to be an Academic Advisor?
