The pay depends on the size of the company and what the requirements are for the job.

Some A/R jobs are just posting checks and nothing else.
Some have Billing, A/R and Financial reporting, Collections and G/L entries.

Most A/R jobs you need to know MS Word and Excel and some type of Accounting Software program such as Quickbooks, Mas90, Peachtree, Microsoft Dynamics GP, or Oracle.
You should also know Basic Accounting Fundamentals.
