I am taking the NCCAP certification course and I need to interview someone who has been a Director for 10 or more years so I can write a paper. I have been calling around my area and found one but need two total. Would anyone be willing to answer a few job related questions for me. I have been an Activity Assistant in NH for almost 9 years and am working on a promotion soon.

I have been a director over ten years and recently lost my job to someone who costs less. Now I am activity supervisor of an assistant living but i might still be able to answer your questions. I am currently looking for another director position. I am an ADC.

I've been an activity director for 11 years, I use to love my job but we now have an administrator that is sucking the joy out of work. She has the personality of a robot. Within the first week she said I was an attacker when I attended morning meetings because I would express my feelings about the unfairness of dining room duties that certain people never do and nothing is never said. I work my ass off all day long and multitask nonstop. I have formed bonds with several residents and I'm told that is unproffessional and this is a job. I don't know about you but last year I was employee of the year and I felt like what I do matters. Then a new person whom is my boss makes me feel small and belittles me in front of others. She keeps her door closed most of the day and if I ask something it's always cut short. I am a 44 year old woman who so much wants to feel like I matter and I do a great job but instead I get picked at constantly and I believe she thinks I'm not a good employee . I have worked at this facility for over 6 years. I have never had any issues in surveys. I help out in all areas even outside my realm. I am currently seeking a new job because every single worker is always upset because she never stops picking at people for anything. She has even called the maintaince man one morning and told him to shave before coming to work. So i wish I could help you with your situation because it does hurt when you have a great job and then one day a single person destroys your life

I have worked in all areas within 10 years as ADC through NCCAP. I love whta I do and would have it no other way. Some days are most challenging but I miiss it when I am not there. In working with all residents big and small I get great satisfaction in every difference the activity professionals make.
