I have over 15 years in the public relations and copywriting industries (including the mobility and nutritional/health/wellness markets). I'm also a union actor who has acted in and arranged countless murder mysteries and similar interactive shows. Several people have told me I would make an ideal activities or event director. Are there any other special requirements or certifications for this field? Specific job banks or boards? Thanks! |

I was undecided if I should become an Activity Director. The burn out rate is rather high, well, with me it was. I knew people who have done it for years and still love it (15+ years). You have to love seniors, the work environment too. Don't forget if you work in an assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility they are somewhat different. Can you take all that goes along with working with the elderly? The ups and downs of each day can send you into a tizzy. check out www.activitydirector.net... I think that's the website or close to it. They have a wealth of information there. Good Luck and don't forget that position can be very rewarding also. |

Don't think this is the place to hawk your website and how to make money. |
