Yes I got one today. They are trying to get my highschool transcripts. I gradutated back in 1992. I asked him if a diploma will do but he said no. OMG I hope they don't look at my grades!

I gradutated back in 1982 OMG!! He told me to get them and fax them over!! I've been calling and no one returns calls :(

They told me to finish with USIS so it was all done and we would be on hold for now!

Oh really?well they told me due to the economy right now, that the company has decided to cancel all hirings and trainings for the time being and hopefully would be back to normal by next summer. But she also said with the airline industry, you never know, so hopefully it could be sooner. Its just so frustrating and disapointing

I just want to say how sorry I am to everyone,and with some luck things will be better soon.

Hey everyone. I am so sad and sorry for everyone. They told me that they have no idea when the training will be continued and asked me if I wanted to be on a waiting list and I said of course!! I hate to say it but I was scared of this happening because our training was so far off. I just have to think everything happens for a reason and will all work out the way it should. Lets all keep in touch no matter what!

This is unfortunate. Like you, I wasn't completely surprised. Other airlines have been cancelling as well. I just thought it was odd to get the call the day after I had faxed all the requested documents to USIS. The lady from Alaska recruitment sounded so perky in her message that I thought she was calling to give me good news!!
I am very disappointed. I was worried about something like this and that's why I was so disappointed we didn't get the June class. I guess it's time to come up with a new plan. Hopefully, we will be in the next class whenever that is.I need a job in the meantime but I still really want to work for Alaska Airlines. Best of luck to everyone!!

back to square 1...But, keep the faith. We never know they might be up and running by Sept. And, we will be added to the class...Just, keep plugging for a job....good luck.

Let's keep in touch, I talked to my friend who is a F/A for Alaska and she said hang in there this has happened a couple of times before in her 23 years!! and if we can wait they want us.

I'm sorry i should have explained --- the letter telling us we are wait listed for the next class.

I recieved my letter today. That, I will be put on the wait list for the next class...Something to look foward to!

Time will go by fast----lets try to keep the forum going. We are making new friends. By the time we start training we will all know one another better :)

Did someone mention a date? Where did the first of the year come from? Someone else said next summer but when I received my call she said there wasn't even a tentative date at this point. My letter didn't have any indication of a training date either.

I have a good friend in training now. Alaska is taking delivery of B73-800. I think he said they already took delivery of 1 and will get another 7 0r 8. Don't quote me! But, he likes training and is having a good time. Hopefully, it will be sooner than later. But, non the less . I'm just glad that i'm on the list...:-)

Then you can go to AirlineCareer.com then click on Our Service go down to comprehensive corporate and employment data, click on the Blue highlighted info for Alaska Air employment (Read Hiring Comments) it was updated on 6/10. :)

I'm glad to be on the list too. I hope we get called sooner than later. I just have to figure out what to do (for work) in the meantime. It's difficult being out of the industry when that's all I've done the last 8 years..........
