I applied at chase bank teller. They send me an email to call the recruiting center and I did. The girl told me that she will send my information to the manager at Chase and they will match me up. I should get a phone call or email in the next couple of weeks. Does it take that long?? |

I just got a job with chevy chase bank with a starting rate of 13 per hour. Bank of America called me for an interview but I didn't call back since I committed to the job offer by Chevy chase already (hope its the right decision) |

Nick in Oak Brook, Illinois said: Can someone PLEASE give the right web-site for Credit Union bank? When I put that name in Google, I got plenty of results and I don't know which web-site is THE official web-site for the Credit Union bank. Please help a foreigner. Thank you. I'm not sure if the answer matters anymore but I thought I would respond anyway. "Credit Union" is not a bank like Chase or Wachovia is. It is a finance center, not for profit, resulting in different federal rules and lower credit rates. |

I started out working for National City Bank then made the switch with PNC bank when all that happened. I started out at 9.50/hr no teller experience, I received a whole 14 cent raise. They promise you the world so you don't leave, but don't follow through. I hate it there they don't want to hire from within when they have full time positions available, they would rather hire someone from outside with no experience or anything its horrible. I am looking to switch to another bank I know I can get paid a lot better and have more hours i have a ton of experience. Maybe its just my branch. |

What kind of qualifications do you need to be a bank teller? I used to work for wachovia. Wachovia has been purchased by wells fargo bank. Wells Fargo has a VERY strong focus on SALES SALES SALES. You must demonstrate sales ability and professionalism. Wells fargo bank is VERY strict!!!!! Dont work for em unless you love pressure |

I use to work for Woodforest Bank and I loved it! I was making 13.00 an hour. I recently moved to GA, and I'm looking for a job. I had an interview with Chase but haven't heard back yet. I also had an interview with Regions(Lockbox Clerk Position) and they want to move forward with the background check. Does anyone know if Chase and Wachovia perform credit checks? I'm assuming they do, but just wanna make sure. :)) |

I think it depends on the city and state that you'd be working in. I am in Point Pleasant WV and had a interview at a bank and they said they start of $8.00-$8.50 and with experience you will get about $9.00-$9.50. I use to live in Pittsburgh PA and the banks there would start at $10.00-$11.00 an hour so I think it depends on the city and state that you choose to work in. |

Jared in Peoria, Arizona said: I just started with Wells Fargo for $10.75 per hour. Their starting rate is only $10, but I have previous banking experience. My first teller job was with Meridian bank for $9.00 an hour 5 years ago. My current pay is a huge decrease from the $16.00 an hour I was making before as a college financial aid counselor. I will tell you something though. I have NEVER met a teller that didn't love their job and there's so much room for quick advancement with most banks. I was miserable making $16 an hour. The extra pay isn't worth the headache. $10.75 is well worth the enjoyment you will get out of a teller position. I've just recently been hired on at Wells Fargo, could any one tell me what the pay day is? |

Teller jobs vary greatly depending on where you work. Banks like Bank of America and Wells Fargo have training programs that leave a whole lot to be desired. When you do get into your position, you really aren't as much a teller as an entry level sales associate. You have quotas you must reach on a daily basis. If you don't meet them, you can and will be fired. The pay is awful (10.75 is extremely high), and there are little to no raises annually. Look into a credit union. Typically they're better to their employees, and there is less of a focus on sales (ie, sell whatever you can to whomever you can whether they need it or not) and more of a focus on member care (ie, the member would genuinely benefit from this product or service). |

I started out telling at Bank of America at $12 an hour. During training, I was in a cubicle near our recruiter and overheard them tell multiple hopefuls that the starting pay was $11 something. I had no previous banking experience, but had cashiering/customer service skills under my belt. |

I am looking into becoming a teller at Wells Fargo I have worked at a cafe and restaurant but I want a different experience. Is it a good job? Is it super stressful? what if you dont always meet the quotas even if you offer them to every customer do they really fire you? Is it hard to meet their quotas? |

I was making $10/hr plus incentive at Chase. The incentive is based on how many accounts, credit cards, etc. you get the personal banker to open. I didn't try hard and my incentive was roughly $100 per month and I worked 20 hours per week. One of the reasons I left Chase was that they wouldn't bump tellers up to full time for a full year after hire. They offered me full time when I put in my 2 week notice but the hours would be split between two locations... screw that! I didn't like my branch manager either who would always get on my case because I wasn't "referring" customers who didn't have accounts (i.e. people coming in to pay on a credit card or car loan) to the bankers. My problem was that I waited on these people so many times and have asked them several times and they always said NO so why keep bugging them! Needless to say I have a great accounting job now which pays a bit more per hour than Chase but no incentive :( Still, I am way happier there. |

I dont understand ins that Chase is claiming to offer benefits etc for part time tellers but I dont understand why only offer part time if giving benefits? Most employers like restaraunts restrict to 35 hr or less to avoid paying benefits (McJobs etc) I dont understands this are any p/t tellers actually getting benefits healthcare etc? |

Successfulmama in Snellville, Georgia said: Anyone no what bank of america data entry positions pay?? Those jobs have all been exported to the Philippines or India and NEVER coming back. All the banks esprecially Chase are doing everything they can to export as many jobs outside the US as possible to increase profits. We are lucks banks still need tellers and those jobs cant really be offshored until the get people to use ATM or online banking more so they can eliminates those costs (jobs) as well... look at what RedBox / Netflixx has accomplished all the clerks that were working for Blockbuster and Hollywood Video as well as your local video rental small business those jobs are gone forever as well but at least they weren't liad off so they could hire people for a fraction of the cost elsewhere in the world. The Community Banks and Credit Unions are the only ones that are part of the solution and not part of the long-term structural unemployment problem. Chase, BofA, Well Fargo, Citi and all the other TARP welfare banks are getting $$ from the Fed at 0% to 0.25% courtesy of us the taxpayers and then are lending at up to 30% APR or simply buying treasuries at 3.5% with no risk of default guaranteed money is a no brainer. Find a community bank or credit union in your area... |

Mike F in Riverside, California said: Those jobs have all been exported to the Philippines or India and NEVER coming back..... Now only 5 banks Chase, Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Citi and US Bank control almost 70% of all outstanding mortgages, credit cards, car loans etc and that rate is accelerating until there eventualyl will only be one bank left most likely Chase based upon their market share and balance sheet then we will all be at their mercy there will be no compettition and they will charge what ever rate they feel like. These 5 banks along with Golman Sachs, which is now an FDIC insured casino, already control the White Hosue, Congress and the Supreme Court. The current President, the last President, the President before him and almost all of our Congressmen/women and Senators (Democrat, Republican, Tea Party it doesn't really matter they are all the same and they are all accepting money from these banks and thats who they represent NOT US. The goverment will not do anything to help the middle class workers (those that are left) with the Citizens United decision our votes will be meaningless in 2012 money buys way more influence than ballots our only hope to save our country is to stop working for or doing business with certain mult-national corporations and banks that taking everything they can out of the US economy and working Americans and sending jobs overseas and all the profits going the wealthiest 5% both here and abroad (many foreign soverign wealth firms have substantial holings in these banks i.e CitiGroup and Saudi Royal Family). |
