Hi Friends,

I have been working as an informatica developer(datawarehousing) for the last 3 years. Now I have been offered the position of a business analyst in an MNC.I would like to know what would be my role as a BA and is it a good choice to switch over?
Any feedback will be appreciated.

Hi Tanaya,

BA can be of two different types,
1. Horizontal BA: These BA work on tools such as Documnetum, Pega etc and their job is to get the initial requirement for implementation of these tools for the client, latter these BA act as liaison between the technical team and the client.
2. Vertical BA: these BA’s have domain expertise such as Banking, insurance etc. they understand and document client requirements, they two act as liaison between tech team and client after requirement phase is over

As a BA u should have more business orientation then technical.
Now moving in BA profile is a good option or not that u only can decide.

regards,
Peeyush
