i would not buy new equipment! new equipment is expensive to finance and it is expensive to insure! yes and you have to work hard! cannot be picky as to where you go! have to go where the cars are paying! that does not mean florida cause they dont pay anything in florida coming or going! yes you can make good money, but you have to hustle!

man.....let me tell you my opinion...........you start new in this business .........you have no connection......you going to lose your but...........Lose the house if you have one .......max your credit cards.........and start hauling cheap freight in your desperation to make the payments and insurance
ok now lets do the mat.9car load is not all ways legal.so lets say you are picking a load for 350 miles
load will pay $693 yeah that's right you will haul for .22c/mile per car for full load.ok now.....you are over on your gross weight let's say about 10796Lbs....... oops(9 KIA sorento load 50796Lbs)so let's go around the scale house ......scratch 3 tops on the top deck........well that's money out of your pocket.you know a good body man....cost for damage maybe $800-900 if you are lucky.......so you are getting pay how much $693.....your damage cost you about $800 let's say...ohhhh before i forget the fuel around $233..and i did not add the truck bill.........new truck payment $5000-$6000 insurance about $2500 brake it down to 30/days.......we are talking about a new truck.......if you thinking man I'm making $1.98/mile...this is good(for dry van).well maybe you forget that you pay $7500/mo on your truck that cost 250k.....rates for car haulers(with connections) go for around $1-$1.35/mile for each car..so full load about $9-$12.15/per mile.......you get the picture.
