I'm currently hauling RV's for a company out of Oregon. Although the RV Transsport Business has kept me going steady, it seems like the good loads are getting fewer and backhauls are getting longer. At the same time, I'm seeing more and more 3 & 4 car haulers on the highways all throughout the West. I am looking at making a change to the Auto Transport Business. I do have a CDL and some experience hauling cars although not extensive. Can anyone give me an idea where I might turn here in California to get started? Also, does anyone know where I might be able to lease or rent a 3 or 4 car trailer? If I could find one with the center channel and a winch so I might haul boats and cargo trailers that would even be better. I have lots of work there as well. I'm all ears and would love some input. Thanks, Pete |

Thanks, Pete See, the long miles hauling RV's is getting to me! In my statement above, I obviously meant the deadhead is getting longer not the "backhauls". If that was the case I probably wouldn't be on this site.....Sorry about that! |

Thanks, Pete What kind of trailer are you pulling? Is it owned by you? Could you backhaul cars on it? Do you have your own auth. Sounds like you could use a dispatcher to get you some loads going back. Let me know if you need a dispatcher. |

Is there any 1 year contracts ? I haven't worked in 7 years, a 2 year commitment seems a bit much for me.

Hi, What are you looking to haul and do you need a sleeper? I have a '95 GMC 6 speed daycab with a 2 5/16 ball to haul goosenecks and transporters, but no sleeper. that one has about 225,000 miles but very strong. Again unlimited miles and $500.00 per month. Otherwise the rest are full size rigs with sleepers which would cost you more to register, insure and run. I can pretty much work with you on 1 year leases, deposits etc, but need to know what you are looking to do with it.

What would bring more money to the pocket a 40' flatbed with ramps or the car hauling deal with a one ton |
