Thanks hey i read your post. i am dispatcher for independent o/o car haulers. i have been in the car hauling business since 99. it is hard now to make enough money with a dually and a 3 car trailer. freight prices havent climb up with the fuel and insurance prices. a 3 car is a good entry point to car hauling but you will not last long with that equipment these days. if you get a 3 car setup with the intentions to move up to a 7 car you should be alright for a little while. if you do start off with a 3 car setup buy inexpensive used equipment so that once you move up to a 7 car, the equipment will be paid for and easy to get rid of without a huge loss. most people that fail in car hauling that start off with a dually fail because they buy a brand new 40k/50k dually. you can buy a good 10 car for what you pay for a new dually. should be able to pick up a good used dually under $10k and a trailer for around $3k-$5k. i hope this has helped you. |

I understanding was I could expect to get between 35 and 50 cents per mile per car with a 3 car wedge trailer does that sound correct? |
