Crystal in Shepherdsville, Kentucky said: The Community Action Partnership Progam at 810 Barret Ave in Louisville, Ky has a scholarship that you can apply for for CNA classes through the American Red Cross. Me and a friend just check this out and it no longer available through red cross. But the topcarecna.training.com sounds great. Thanks |

vecee burch in Louisville, Kentucky said: what facilities help pay for certification and can i go for lpn before cna? LPN is the next step up from the CNA there is no use in going for LPN beofre CNA you would be lowering yourself the lowest step is CNA as for certificatkion then LPn...RN and on up |

mer0813@aol.com in Louisville, Kentucky said: you DO NOT HAVE TO PAY ANYTHING FOR THE TUTORING AT THE NIA CENTER FOR THE TABE TEST. I WENT FOR ABOUT A MONTH BEFORE I TOOK IT A 2ND TIME, I HAD TO BRUSH UP ON MY MATH. IT IS WORTH GOING THERE AND GETTING ONE ON ONE HELP. ALSO IF YOU DO THE CNA CLASS THEY WILL PAY FOR IT THROUGH THE WIA PROGRAM. THROUGH KENTUCKYWORKS PROGRAM. I AM TAKING MEDICAL BILLING AND CODING AND NOT PAYING FOR THE ONLINE CLASS. for you to go through the Kentuckia works you have to have exhausted the unemployment benefits. If you are not getting unemployment them they will not help you |

Indiana Health careers is the best place to go for CNA training. The cost is 650 and you finish in a month with pleanty of oppertunities to grow and practice in the field. The instructor is professonal is has been an RN for several years. My sister took the class 4 years ago and has refered about 5 people who were all successful. Good luck to all and we should have a luncheon for CNA's. That would be a great way to meet and network within our community. Any takers? |

crystal payne in Louisville, Kentucky said: Everyone is concerned about the cna exam..go during the evening, the test is easy...if you go earlier its harder. Now working agency can be a benefit to cnas because they pay more....some people lie about pay...but listent to me..get six months experience then call medical staffing network they our based in louisville the pay is 15-18 hourly depending on shift..ams tempories pays 14 hourly, guardian pays 13.50...staffing network pays without exp 11.00 an hour, crown medical across from st matthews mall 11.00 no exp for only hazelwood andcentral state. Now a guy i met stated at nortons hospital as a pca similar to nurse aide-sitter he makes 12.70 an hour. Espiscal pays 11.00 and someone told me jefferson manor pays 14.50 for second and third shift without license....I worked for msn , that is the best agency in louisville...real nice and they treat you nice...you can go on their site and they'll tell you how much they pay....going pool for a hospital is more money...personaly from experience with no experience its 7.80 an up to maybe 10.20 hour and same with experience...also the cna test is basic common sense and few questions from the book..I did not study once and passed the first time...now the skills is vitals, peri care male, mouth cleaning unconcious, rom..the rns their our older and nice...they give you chances to reudue skills- but remeber to focus on critical points.i am excited to get back to work...i wish everyone well..good luckcould u give me the number for medical staffing network? |

i have been working cna for 17 yrs in phoenix, the place i work at has gotten bad and treat cna,s badly.....last year they canceled us sometimes twice every 2 weeks...they hire more cna,s than they need, and then cancel ya once a week, so they have enough staff...they do not want to hire prn,s and let the regulars get full time hours.....they send ya home 1 , 2 and 3 hours before quitting time,,,,,,thinking that after folks get into bed . there is nothing eles to do..how wrong are they.....now , starting april 15,,,they are cutting our pay by $1 an hour.....to ad to the crappy way this treats us, the federal gov has reduced medicare payments 11% in 2011....our fed gov really honors and treats the elderly nicely....this is very wrong....i don,t ever enourage anyone to be a cna or nurse..... |

Mick in Shepherdsville, Kentucky said: you do need ged/high school diploma. you need current TB skin test, drivers license for proof of residence or piece of mail addressed to you at your home, background check for this state, no felonies or misdemeanors allowed. I am starting classes Nov 12 and will be finished and ready to test after Nov 25. I opted to take the two week "Express Course" because i've had some of this before. Go online to Kentuckianaworks.com. they have locations all over the area. I went to the one in shepherdsville ky. the classes are downtown at chestnut and jackson across from university hospital . 8am - 4pm M-F for what I'm doing but some are M-W-F only and 3 weeks long plus clinicals. TO Mick in Shepherdsville I have a misdemeanor from saving someone's life from a drug overdose back in 2008. It is attempted tampering with evidence. I have been planing on obtaining a CNA for a few years now. I am just now in a situation where I can do that. Are you telling me that my dreams are shattered and I will never work in the medical field for having a non drug related, non violent misdemeanor because I tried to save someone's life? Where does that leave me? Please email me at gonzogal@ymail.com. I am in tears and feel like my life is now going to be a big FAIL. Thanks for your time or anyone on the boards here that can help me. Sheri |
