st. mary's manor is not a nursing home... its just an erlderly apartment complex... its not assisted living or anything like that.. they dont even have cna's there..

Im 24 years of age i have took cna classes befor i really enjoy doing that type of work actually i love it so much it dosen,t even feel like work its a joy working with the elderly they are like babys and i have two myself i took up the classes in 2002 i passed the test but the classes cast 500 dollars and 50 for the state test i came up with majorty of the money but my time expired so i got a job at washington heights nursing center in dietary i loved doing that to making sure every resident got there right diets and everything i would really love to take up those classes again and go all the way.SHENICE DILLON

the red cross in FL offers cna classes. they arent free i think they are around 225.00 other wise look in the paper for nursing homes and they do paid training

There is a school in Stone Mountain called Caregiver Solutions Training Institute, they offer cna & pct classes. The price is affordable you can make payments. They have 100% pass rate on state boards. The facility is nice and the instructors are great. Good Luck

I worked for a in home rn who set up her house with 6 dementia patients and I worked for her for 4 years 7 yrs ago.He mom was head of a nursing home and taran her daughter didnt like the way the nursing homes were treating the patients so she open up her own home and she taught me alot.Im living in edgewater florida near Daytona beach.I was looking for a 10 day or 2 wk course in New Smyrna or near there.Anyone out there who can give me info?Ive been online all day .I dont want to go to college I know theres private people having the classes now.Please help Kathi

I wouldn't waste my time becoming a CNA because you won't find a job in & around the Phoenix area. I am a recent CNA grad. & can NOT find work because all of the hospitals, hospices, nursing homes, home care etc... will NOT hire someone out of school right now. Every job I apply for all want at least 1 year experience (some 2 years). My question to all of them is "how am I supposed to get experience if no one will hire me??" Anyone thinking of becoming a CNA should not waste the $$ on the classes, schools will lie to you & tell you there is work when in fact there is nothing available for recent grads. Not to mention the pay SUCKS $9-$10/hr.....go be an RN if you want to become a nurse.
