I do not know that there is a "fast" way to get your LVN. Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe it takes 2 years to become an LVN, and 1 year to become an LPN. Some of the students with whom I attended college completed some of their coursework during the summer months, or prior to the year inwhich they took the clinical component of the program. It would seem that it lightened their load, however, it probably did not make the course go any faster. I hope this helps you. |

There is no difference between an LPN (licensed practical nurse) and an LVN (licensed vocational nurse). Some states use one title, some use the other, some use both. They are one and the same. Some schools offer fast-track programs (less than a year, 11 months of very fast-paced, intensive schooling & clinical). Other schools offer 18 month or 2 year programs. All lead to the same end: the ability to challenge the LPN or LVN boards in your state. There are no "online" or "national" LPN/LVN schools. It is a balanced program of academic classes and labs/clinicals. You would have to find a school in your area. Some are public, offered through county or state vocational schools (cheaper alternative but usually good schooling), others are private (much more expensive, training often is not as good and they are often not accredited). Hope that helps, LPN licensed in FL and VA |
