Susanna in Fort Worth, Texas said: I recieved my certification from Tarrant County College. The course was about 500. All you have to do is contact the South campus Extended education department. There is limit of about 12-15 students per class. About how long was your course? I was told there was a 3 week class here in the Dallas Metroplex that you can take to get your CNA license. Have you heard of that? It was about 8 to 900 dollars. My thought is to do that and work on getting my LVN while working in the field. |

As you can see, I am new at this...I am looking for a course here in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex that has a CNA course that lasts about 3 weeks and it costs about $900. I want to do that while I am getting my LVN and then my RN. Any suggestions? My situation is that I have to work while going to school. I of course have my hs diploma and a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Changing fields for the last time. |

Hi there, Have you heard of a Comprehensive skill test. I want to do my CNA course but if you don't have your GED or Diploma this is the test you have to take. Questions is the company selling software proudect for quality, training safety, other question is about sick days and and time out from the company, other question is Dr.s note for the company sick time out etc. There are other questions on this one slip of paper, you have to read the question and then answer but they are not a yes or no questions, thats why its called a reading comprehensive skill test. If anyone has done this test will you let me know please. Is there a site I can print this off? Thank you all, Bk |

JC in Plano, Texas said: $825 DOLLARS ARE TO MUCH YOU CAN GO SOME OTHER PLACE BUT YOU NEED TO DO MORE RESEARCH AND GET THE SAME THINGS Who charges $825.00? I went to Nurses Aide Academy and only paid $627.00 for all supplies(CPR,Textbook,TB Test, and State Exam Fee)So check them out and see for yourself what program works best for you. They also have a payment plan ($285.00 down and pay the remaining balance in 3 weeks).I'm glad that I graduated from their program. |

"Home health aides are projected to have the quickest job growth, as many people desire in-home treatment as a preferable alternative to hospital or nursing home care. Also as an added bonus, nursing assistant jobs in hospitals and nursing homes are still expected to grow faster than the average for all careers." |

I believe the school does not matter, you will have to take and pass testing to get certified. To be sure, call your local hospital and ask Human Resourses if that school is recognized. They would be able to help. Also my CNA school, helped me in finding job placement ,upon completion and testing. Ask the school if they help students get work in Hospitals if that is where you want to work...Good Luck with schooling...B |
