Rimi in Bangalore, India said: Dear All, In the end, it depends on two things: what you want, and the culture. If you want to travel extensively for work and work a great deal of hours, then CRA work is for you. I was a CRA in the US and I can tell you that at minimum, I was working 65-70 hours per week. I would leave for an airport at 4 am on Monday, or even on Sunday night, and not return until 12 am on Friday night/Saturday morning. Each evening after work, I would work on reports in my hotel room. It is not an easy job for anyone who is married, male or female. In India, I think due to culture, it would be even worse. You as the female still have certain constraints. CDM may be the way to go. Personally, after seeing what CDM does, I knew it simply wasn't a career path I could take. |

Sorry, forgot to add, for salary information, look online at job boards and websites like payscale. Finally, since you have a degree in bioinformatics, why not find something in that? |

Jagat prakash mishra in Hyderabad, India said: ur from NIPER na....u must have strong research group there ...better u ask ur faculty n seniors.....NIPER name is enough......but do remeber dnt join nay C.R course ..from ICRI or CREMA...they r money making business only.......ALL THE VERY BEST.. CREMA is useless, hopeless and a fraud college. The chairman is a big fraud and cheater. They are running an institute which neither has a building nor faculty nor a placement officer. It was a good institute 2-3 years back but nw its not atall functioning well.So guys Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzz dont join this institute otherwise you will end up wasting money as well as time. |

does CRA book flights with own money first & claim expense later, or company gives a ready made ticket to CRA? |
|
Martina in Coal Center, Pennsylvania 3 months ago |
It depends on what type of job you are working. If you are an employee of an organization, you will be given a corporate credit card. The CRA is responsible for picking the best flight and booking it using the corporate card. Then, after the trip, they fill out an expense report and makes sure the corporate card is reimbursed properly. However, if you are working as an independent contractor, you will use your own money and get reimbursed later. There are no companies that I know of that give you "ready made" tickets- the CRA is responsible for their own schedule and for ensuring the corporate account is paid properly. Any discrepancies in the corporate account must be made up by the CRAs. |

Now a days all CROs having there own travel desk to avoid the burden to CRAs. They have to send just one mail to travel desk or associate travel agent with the company. Then agent will send few travel itinerary. Based on his(CRA) requirement he can book flight tickets.

SRAI in Bangalore, India 2 months ago |
Hi!! As far as i know n hv heard from friends ICBIO Bangalore is a gud institute to pursue CR course. But i dont feel there s very gud scope n growth of CR. Yeah there are many clinical research organisations in Bangalore but at the same time there s a kind of saturation as very few openings r coming these days and a lot of aspirants r there. So if one is really talented , confident and performs really well in the interviews then he/she can get one job very easily n Moreover doctors are preferred over candidates from other educational backgrounds.Initially if u join a big CRO then pay will be around 15K per month. So friend please think properly n then go for this course in any institute. UOTE who="emma in Bangalore, India"]hello everyone,
thank you |

thiru in Pune, India 2 months ago |
Hi
Otherwise best option is join as a trainee in some hospitals for 2 to 3 months you will understand what exactly CR means. Some of Hospitals they will charge some RS 2000 to 3000 per month for trainers. It is for better than joining CR |

Hi In Clinical Research Clinical Data Management(CDM) is most suitable for you to enter as in Pharmacovigilance there s not much scope for non-medicos. So if u r interested in CDM u can read the basics of CDM & Clinical Research like GCP , Schedule Y etc on internet. Lots of study material s available on net just google it out. n if u provide ur email id here then i can mail u some CDM fundamental questions for interview. After going through the topics u can search jobs through job portal websites n through friends who r already wrking in this field.Apart from this there r many institutes that provide training courses in CDM u can check out these institutes and can join they will teach u CDM. If the institute s really gud it will also provide placement assistance. so this way u can enter into CDM which is one of the 3 branches of Clinical Research.. all the best tc :) |

Please let me know ICRI Institute of Clinical Research is accrediated in India ?
Some time back, the WES authority of US has declair ICRI as non accrediated institute in India and the credit earned on the ICRI course is considered non transferable to any US Institute |
|
ATT in Grover, Missouri 1 month ago |
Suryakant, unfortunately, the US Has very different views on value of training than India. No training courses done in India will be valuable to a US employer. While Indian companies like to see training, US institutes only want to see US work experience and values no training done overseas. Transferring credits to a US institute or any other clinical research training program would be a waste of money if your goal is getting a job in the US. |
