JaMShz,

Hi, I was looking into becoming a CNA. I wonder if you could tell me is your employer a hospital or nursing home. I was going to sign up for the VoTech classes which cost about $500. Hoping to eventually find an employer to send me for my LPN or RN.

Thanks,
Lillain

I am currently a CNA for about 4 years now at an Adult Day Health facility. If I can offer any advise...become a nurse instead. The job demands can be very frustrating and you are rearly appreciated or recognized for your job (in Pennsylvania). In the State of PA or Philadelphia, if you pay out of pocket for your program you will fully reimbursed if you go to a nursing home for what you paid for the program but if you go to a hospital you will not.

There is a $6000.00 grant affiliated with Career Link...through Unemployment. You do not have to be unemployed to be able to get it. It is designed for career advancement. It is for schools that are list under their website. If the school that you would like to attend is not there then you can request that you school get on it so you can attend and get the grant for it. Just be careful about the LPN programs that you may want to attend. If they say that they are accepted but not affiliated then they aren't very notable.
