Hi,
There is a nurseaide testing site. Go to www.nurseaidetesting.com
and on the left blue box click on the practice test. This is a free test you don't have to pay it's free. You choose from 10 to 85
sample practice cna questions for the written test. I used this to practice for my cna written exam and I did very well on my cna written exam. Hope this works for you and good luck. Just have faith and take your time.

Whitney in Stevenson, Connecticut said: Is the CNA state test hard.... I think the written test would be fine...but i dont know about the skills...kinda of nervous...

I FINISHED MY PROGRAM FOR CNA IN OCTOBER OF 2009 I DID NOT TAKE MY STATE BOARD UNTIL ALMOST 4 MONTHS AFTERWARDS BECAUSE OF PAPERWORK MIXUP. THE WRITTEN TEST WAS PRETTY EASY BASICALLY WHAT YOU LEARN IN CLASS, ITS MULTIPLE CHOICE. SO BASICALLY COMMON SENSE THERE WERE SOME QUESTION ON THE TEST THAT WE DID NOT GO OVER IN CLASS BUT NOTHING TO GET UPSET OVER, YOU WILL DO GOOD. AS FOR THE SKILLS I WAS NERVOUS BECAUSE I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT BUT IT IS JUST AS NORMAL AS IN CLASS FOLLOW THE STEPS, DO WHAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY DO IN ASSISTING AND CARING FOR YOUR RESIDENTS BUT DON'T FORGET THE KEY POINTS THAT ARE HIGHLIGHTED, I MEAN THE CRITICAL POINTS DONOT FORGET TO DO THOSE. AND MAKE SURE WHAT EVER YOU GET FOR YOUR VITAL YOU DO IT CORRECTLY BECAUSE ONE THING I OBSERVED IS THAT IF YOU DON'T PASS THE VITALS THE WILL FAIL YOU BECAUSE THAT COULD ME THE LIFE AND DEATH OF YOUR RESIDENTS. HOPE THIS WAS HELPFUL

HAve you taken the skills portion of the test and if so how long did it take to get your grade. And did it come from the state? My granddaughter took the skills test and hasn't received her grade yet. Just wondering.

I am going to be taking the written compentcy exam in Chattanooga,TN. bcuz I am transfering my CNA to Tennessee from Georgia! I do know that there wil be at least 75-80 questions on the test but...if there are any CNA's here that are Tennessee CNA's, give me information on how thw written test was and were you shown what ones you missed b4 you took it again so that you will know which ones to study better at for when you repeated it! Are there anmy CNA's in Chattanooga and Oak Ridge that belong to this forum?

I recently took my CNA test and they let u know whether you passed or failed both skills and written test. Written part is pretty much common sense; skills part is very detailed; its like you have to do everything to the 10th power.

OK guys I have a question and Im getting the run around

My Wife graduated BS marketing in 2003. She then attended Nursing in the Philippines IN 2004. She finished all her academics and clinical. But she didnt turn in her clinical because she wasnt going to take the board. Now that she wants to take the Board here in the US, she is trying to get her transcript and the school said she is incomplete because she didnt turn in her clinical. The school suggested to either find the Nurses and Clinical instructors and have them resign the form or retake the clinical portion.

So now a friend told me have my wife take CNA class and challenge the NCLEX. Is this possible? remember she didnt graduate in the philippines since she didnt turn in her clinical. So take CNA class and challenge NCLEX? is that easy?

Its very easy but it takes a long time your best bet is to go to a local school and inquire into letting her graduate, do her clinicals and going from there.

I just took it, and with the written test i would read the questions very carefully. I was verrrry nervous about the skills but just breathe and think everything through I even talked my way through it. As long as you're maintaining safety the whole time you'll do great!

Hi all.. Saturday is my big test day. As most people my worries are not with the written but the skills. I know my skills, its getting the steps in order. I'll be testing in Greensboro, NC and I wanted to know are they that strict on doing the steps in order or do you have to make sure you do the steps and especially the critical steps. Thanks in advance

Yes; They are very critical when it comes to the skills part. You have to do them in order; If you make a mistake just tell the examiner and they will have you do that step over. A biggie is infection control.

I thought so, today me and my former classmates were practicing @ our school and they were telling me that as long as I do the steps there shouldn't be a problem. Our instructor wasn't there she just let up practice alone today so we couldn't ask her. Have you took the test Kimoraa, how are you suppose to recall all the steps in order??

Yes; I took both the skills and written test. Follow the blue book that they gave you in school. As long as you study that for the skills part you will ace it...

I took my test today and I PASSED both the written and skills with no problems. I tested with my classmates only, all 8 of us passed! I had hand washing, measure blood pressure, feeding, fingernail care, and ROM Knee/Ankle.. I was worried for nothing all the hard skills I was afraid of I didn't even get. Its not as bad as you think its going to be to future testers either you know it or you don't and remember you can miss some steps and still pass. **JUST NOT A CRITICAL STEP!**

Hi Ronda. Go to NNAAP and there you will find a complete packet of the practice exam and all the skills that you need to know. Just remember it doesnt have too be perfect but dont miss a critical step; such as: gloves; privacy; washing hands; the state is very big on infection control and keeping the patient safe at all times... GOOD LUCK! Let me know how it goes...

heather concerned in Charlotte, North Carolina said: This is to the CNA from conn. regarding Job discriptions as a CNA

I have been a Certified Nsg Assistant for over eighteen years, and to my knowledge as a nursing assistant this is a brief discripition of our responsibilities; Showers, feeding, vitial signs, Range of Motion, bed making,Ambulations provide safty at all times, documentations etc.

If you work for an agency you should follow their guidelines on the duty to perform with the client/customers. Check with your state nurse aid Reg. for more details....
If you are having back problems you should consult your employer and you may want to varify your body mechanics when transfering, and multitasking...If you are complying with every little detailed not on your Job discription you will/ without a doubt make it very difficult for other workers who comply with their job discriptions and Resposibilities so you might want to conduct a full review of discriptions you were hired for...take it safe and slow "Money" might be everything but think about your "freedom" I stated that because if you are not trained and qualify for being a Physical Theorpy you might be at risk if something goes wrong in the process....Look out for your safty and your client safty. The aboue reply is only my opinion throughout my many years of experiences...

I just took my CNA state exam today (Illinois) and it's not difficult,it's more on common sense,no tricky question. The truth is...the State would like you to pass the test. However they need to know if the student really understand his/her duties as a CNA. The test include: Residents Right,Calculation of Input and Output,Rehabilitation & Restorative, such as identifying the ROM,and basic nursing skills.A relative of mine who took the CNA exam 20 yrs ago told me that even in her time the exam was so easy and more on common sense and i found out that shes right after i took my exam today.

lalang in guilford, Maine said: hi anyone can tell me what preparation do i need to do or basic research regarding "healthcare" i am planning to take a CNA class,PLEASE advice me what preperation do i need?

thank you

1.First you have to ask yourself: Is this the kind of job that i really enjoy?
2.Do i have any idea about the CNA duties or functions?
3. Am i really compassionate to elderly people or people who has developmentally disabilities?

The "healthcare" is a huge and open wide career, you can be a Medical Assistant or a CNA as a first step to becoming a nurse,Occupational therapist, physical therapist etc. the thing is you have to evaluate yourself which path and which career you really enjoy to do for a living. You don't wanna waste money and time to prepared for a career that in the long run, you find it difficult for you on your physical abilities. You don't want to enroll in the class that in the end of the day you did not appreciate and your not happy about the knowledge that you've learned. I am a CNA and i'm proud of it and very satisfied of my job.One of my classmate did not finished her class right after the first day of our clinical.I would say yes CNA is a physical job but i find it rewarding, because i know i have a passion of taking care of other people. In the Nursing home that I've been working in the starting salary is $13.00 per hr. If you work in the hospital, they pay more but requires more experience and even train you from CNA to PCT which is more money.

Yeah I know i'm confused because so many ppl have told me different things. One of my teachers told me that they dont have to be int the correct order but i have to do every sinlge step. But another one told me they have to be in the right order but as long as i dont forget the critical i can miss on or two so i was hoping that someone that has taken it could tell which one to believe. Good luck though!!

The only people I have ever seen fail this test are ones that screw up blood pressure if they are unfortunate enough to land that skill during the test. Literally, I had a number of students in my class that were there simply to maintain their welfare status that were alcoholics and druggies and they were passed. 99% of those who take the test have nothing to worry about.

jerae in Sacramento, California said: I'm starting to be a little bit more nervous as saturday 01/10/09 is aproaching - I will be taking my CNA competency exam. I'm not so worried about the written test but I'm a little nervous for the skill's test. I did well in school for both written and skills. But it has been three weeks since I graduated and I have not been really practising all the skill procedures since then. The thing that I'm concern about is the "measuring height". It will take me more time to count. Pray for me guys, I really need to pass this test i have a family to feed.

Ms.Mckenzie,
Just study the things you have problem with the most. I took the skills test and passed it but failed the written,i studied the skills part the most and i passed, its better taking the written over than the skills because the skills part cost the most. Im taking the written tomorrow at 9:30. I've been studying all day but i believe i fell the last time is because i was the first to finish mines and the teacher told me to go over my answers, when i did that, i at least change 4 of my answers and keep in mind, you only can miss 10, so changing them 4 answers made me fell. So when taking the written always go with your first instinct, and on the skills, make sure you talk to the pt, that helped me out alot because it looked like i knew what i was doing and they let u correct your mistake as long as you tell them before you move on to the next skill, Other than that, you will pass... believe me.
