why do cna make so little money when we are the one doing all the work first of all we know more about the resident we know when they are sick when they are upset ,sad, hurting, we bath them, dress, feed, there when they need someone to talk too, when they need someone to lash out at we are ther for all their daily needs. and the rest of the business just collect the money and talk alot of mess to us

I think if the CNA's get together like these RN's across the board it would help the pay scale .Because the hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living and retirement places are build off the backs of the Cna.Have you heard of the pyramid?CNA's on the bottom LPN,RN,Doctor.Well just flip it and that you have is Truth.

you are so right we do need to get together because this is getting to be ridiculous most cna's like myself cant pay rent you spend all the holidays and weekends taking care of peoples needs and we are paid the least a dolllar or two above the state minimum wage the man that delivers the water makes more money than a cna who takes care of people something is wrong with that picture.

It really is a pity how little CNAs are paid. My mother works in the cafeteria running the cash register and makes more than most CNAs who care for patients all day long. I think pay for a CNA should be MINIMUM $15 an hour base. There is a lot of hard work involved, risk of exposure, and long hours.

I so think this is very true.We are the universal care givers that know much more in detail about a patient's changes and likes and dislike. We are actually the life line .Imagine this for 1 min................No Cna's in hospitals, retirement communities,no traveling CNA's,NO CNA's. That = The down fall of Health Care as we know it.Lpn's are fading out now you must be a RN all hospitals are they going to do the doctors work and be Care givers??I don't think so!Not being negative just a reality and ladies it has to change not only for our future but for our current survival. We may not be able to change the past pay scale ,but Im going to find out how to get the ball rolling. So if you know a Cna have them drop a line and help us dedicated caregivers be able to give us what we work hard for every day.

Thx

I feel your right!I have been a CNA for 9yrs and going back to school for the reason of saving my body from all the physical hard work.Imagine this...........No CNA's in hospitals, retirement homes, traveling CNA's NONE NO WHERE!! This will cost all corporations across the board. We are skilled educated professionals also.We have had to get education for our certification and training. If you know a Cna have them stop by here to get the ball rolling.I never want to say I should do something. We can change this like the RN'S do.The current pay for 9 yrs 11.50 THAT'S SHOCKING !!! We work hard and should be respected. The LPN'S are fading out very where. We are the ones who actually help these Huge corporations make money off our backs and love for our patients.Enough is enough! If you know a CNA or caregiver have them stop by.Add a line.Im going to find out what I need to do to make this movement happen from my state representatives and you should to.

what do you think about having 20-25 pt. and your co-worker have the same amount of pt.a piece thats way to much to take care of and majority of these pt.s are total care is this consider to be fair to cnas or pt. cant give the proper care .it goes on daily at my work place and many others around the country. and the pay is terrible not saying much for the lack of respect we get.

That is very much AGAINST THE LAW!!black diamond check your state patient to cna ratio. It should be anywhere from 12-14.Your right there no possible way that 1 person can give 1 on 1 care. These places are like set around corporate greed instead of care for patients.Usually you can check with state also because thats not fair to the people you care for and to you also. Its like multi-tasking and x's that by 10-18 something gets missed! These facilties and hospital need to invest in getting more cna's then less. Its also much safer.Thank you for so stopping by and please feel free to chat I love hearing from everyone.I figure we should set a state wide date to protest cna wages and be true advocates for our patient's and love ones.Im going to set up a facebook page just for it.

Check your state law.I have known that it is a 14-16 ratio per cna.Thats way to high 20-25.Theres no way 1 cna can care for that many people PERIOD!State should get envolved with that. You have to be safe and your patients.
