You used to be able to "grandfather" in but those days are over. So just go back and get your GED. Sometimes all you have to do is take a test and not even classes. You may be able to be a PCA meanwhile, but neither CNA nor PCA pays very well. I know I've been one for a long time ( I have an assocoaites degree) and now I am going back for my LPN. Hey! Wilmington has an in-house training center for C.N.A.s!!!
We DO NOT require a high school diploma or G.E.D.
Sessions last only two weeks, testing for the State of North Carolina is then scheduled, authorization to take the test then comes in the mail within ten business days.
I know, I know. Too easy, right?

I don't have a GED or Diploma thats why I have to do a Aptitude Comprenhensive skill test before I can continue on with my CNA tests. We are in Tx. Has anyone done this test before. I put it in as Comprenhensive skill test but I'm not getting this one test that I need, need help someone who has done this off their computer and who is computer smart. I appreciate any help on this proplem.

Hi there,

There's a test you have to do its called a Comprehensive skill
test, you can look on line to see if a school will print it off for you, let me know.

i took my cna test and got my licsense with out my high school diploma or ged! its easier to get into the classes if you work for a nursing home or hospital and they will pay for you to go! in missouri you have to have hands on with a rn so if you take the class and dont work in a nursing home or hospital it will be really hard to get your classes requirement fulfilled unless you can find somewhere to volenter and the rn will sign off your sheets for you!

Just go get a GED. I know of people who got their CNA while in high school/through high school. Even though they were still in high school they had to show they were on track to graduate on time.

A CNA certification doesn't require a diploma, but advancement in the medical field past the CNA certification generally does, so you'll want to have the GED so you can be accepted into medical colleges later on. The GED also shows you are committed to learning and will look better on your resume than nothing when you try to find CNA work.

So You dont have to have a GED or HS Diploma to get a CNA I was trying go find out where i need to go get my CNA and how much is it to take the test.

The test is $101.00 if you pay online. A paper application costs an additional $20.00 if you pay by mail. There lots of CNA training options and in your area I believe there are a couple of fast track ones as well. There is one or two in Charlotte, one in Gastonia, and one at Indian Trail.

Our training (CNA QUICK!) is in Hickory, NC and includes 44 hours of hands on skills training for your State skills evaluation. You have to study some on your own for the written portion of the test. Total price is $349.00 which includes everything but the cost of the State test ($101.00). We offer a payment plan!

We offer CNA Refresher course training in Durham NC and you do not need a HS diploma.
It is one of the most fulfilling job with great pay that you can find and dont need a degree. Call or visit our website for more information.
