Do you have any tips to help prepare for an upcoming construction worker interview? Are there common interview questions that come up again and again? |

Some questions are illegal to ask in an interview in some states, and they are all different. (IE: In La. they can't ask "do you smoke?") A lot of states can't ask if you are married, but most interviewers would like to know if there is anything in your life/family that would distract you from performing your duties. Just let the interviewer take the lead and answer his/her questions as fast and honestly as possible. Keep as quite as possible, look them in the eye and answer with a firm voice and avoid using the word "I" as much as possible. Interviewers are looking for confidence in an individual to perform the job being interviewed for. When I interview a person I hate it when they hem haw around looking for an answer and tell me " I did this, I did that, I built this, and all the time looking at the floor or out the window. If you have any credentials pertinent to the job being interviewed for, by all means, let the interviewer know. You can use the word "I" then. I have this certificate, or I this diploma. Be humble but firm. |
